Standardize IT Billing Faster with Built-In Price List Templates

Anton Berghult Anton Berghult •
#Billing

Reduce manual pricing work and get more accurate IT billing in place faster using reusable, best-practice price list templates. Here is the latest feature of vScope Billing

In the latest update of vScope, you can move from discovered IT assets to accurate, structured billing significantly faster using our new price list templates. Instead of building pricing models from scratch, you can preview, copy, and adapt complete price lists, or individual price items, to your organization’s pricing rules. The result is shorter onboarding, faster time to value, and far fewer manual steps to establish automated, reliable billing based on your actual IT environment.

Price List Templates in vScope Billing

What’s new

  • View Templates
Browse curated, ready-to-use price lists (for example, Microsoft 365 licensing) based on common services and real-world pricing structures.
  • Safe preview before use
Templates are “read-only”, allowing you to browse and review pricing logic and structure before choosing to add into your own price lists.
  • One-click create and copy
Instantly create a new price list from a template, or add individual price items to an existing list, reducing setup time to just a few clicks.
  • Independent lifecycle for bundled content
Template content can continuously be added, updated, or removed in vScope, without affecting anything you’ve already created, ensuring stability and future flexibility.

Price List Templates in vScope Billing

Why it matters

Price list templates make it possible to build and evolve your billing foundation continuously, without increasing complexity or manual effort.

  • Faster onboarding
Get customized billing up and running in minutes by starting from a proven template instead of building price lists from scratch.
  • Reusable standards with local flexibility
Apply standardized pricing structures across your organization, while still being able to customize details to fit your organization’s need.
  • Quicker answers for key stakeholders
Finance teams and service owners gain immediate visibility into total IT costs, enabling faster decisions and more confident reporting.

How it works (at a glance)

If you are already using vScope Billing and running the latest version of vScope, you can start using price list templates immediately.

  1. Open Billing → Price Lists and switch to the Templates view.
  2. Select a template, for example Microsoft 365 Licenses, to use as the basis for your billing.
  3. Preview the template and copy the full price list or selected items into an existing list.
  4. Adjust item details as needed, such as discounts, currency, or customer-specific pricing.
  5. Done, your billing has been improved!

Once copied, all price items are fully under your control and will not be affected by future changes to the templates.

We will continue to expand bundled content in vScope Billing. If you have any ideas of price lists you think would help other organizations, please let us know! Your feedback is welcome and helps shape future releases.
